virtual dialup
Dialup access to the Internet that supports the use of unregistered IP addresses and the use of multiple protocols. It allows users of many different protocols (e.g. IP, IPX, AppleTalk) to share common network access (particularly remote access) facilities such as modems, Network Access Servers and ISDN routers.
