server push

The continuous sending of new text, images, and other information from a Web server to a Web browser. Server push uses MIME's ability to send multiple documents within a single message to compose never ending message customized to an individual user's workstation. Implementations of server push, such as that from PointCast, are generally referred to as Webcasting or netcasting. See server, Web, browser, and MIME in the hard copy dictionary.
