Similar to a small ATM terminal and used with an ATM or debit card to access an ATM network, a scrip terminal issues scrip which may be used to purchase goods or be exchanged for cash at a specific retailer. Located in stores, scrip terminals are less expensive to install and maintain than an ATM terminal because they do not need to protect cash.
