recovery key
The key that is used to encrypt the key recovery field in a key recovery scheme. The recovery key is escrowed at a key recovery center or parts of the key are escrowed at multiple key recovery centers. A single recovery key may be used with all versions of a particular product or methodology (e.g. Capstone - which see in the hard copy dictionary), with the specific organization using the key (e.g. customers using the Northern Telecom Entrust product), or with a specific key recovery center (e.g. TIS, RSA, IBM, and AT&T). The recovery key may be associated with either party to a communication.
