channel conflict

A set of problems posed by the offering of the same or similar products from the same manufacturer to the same customers through multiple distribution channels.  Channel conflict tends to decrease prices and erode profit margins, particularly for intermediaries, and may lead to the refusal of intermediaries to continue selling the products.
