Splash page or splash screen

An initial page displayed by interactive software before users enter into the main content of the site. This usually contains logo or other things that are used to promote the company or its products, or may provide version information, author credits or copyright notices. Some splash pages will automatically bring users to the main web site, others require users to click on a link in order to view the main contents.
