NEST Novell Embedded Systems Technology
A Novell technology for transmitting data over power lines, currently at one or two megabits per second and eventually targeted to reach ten megabits per second. It lets developers run NetWare 4 on microprocessors (yet to be developed and embedded in home appliances) that are not powerful enough to support a typical network node. See Smart Energy Network Alliance on this Web page and PLC (power line carrier) in the hard copy dictionary.
