IP-SEC
An IETF standard for encrypted sessions between corporate firewalls. DES with a 56-bit key is the mandatory encryption method. S/WAN (which see) is an industry standard implementation of IP-SEC. (See IETF, encryption, firewall, and DES in the hardcopy dictionary.)
