The homepage of a web site is the entry point to the site. It is the page that will usually have a web address (URL) that ends with .com, .edu, .org, .gov or .cc (the 2 letter code for the country outside the USA). The actual filename, in the above scenarios, is index.html Users can create their own homepages that may be subsidiary to the above, and therefore use a subdirectory, but using index.html as the filename
