Firewall
A firewall is a piece of software or hardware designed to serve as a barrier to exclude outside intruders, typically those on the internet, access to internal content. Companies often adopt firewalls in order to keep their internal communications private (intranets and extranets). Firewalls can also sometimes prevent those behind the firewall communicating with web-sites on the internet that require cookies for the transaction.
