File sharing
File sharing refers to peer-to-peer technology that allows one user of the internet to access files of another user of the internet through a public directory. Before the advent of WWW, this was the primary form of internet information sharing, through public (and private) FTP sites. It has now emerged as a methodology for sharing digital files across the web. Napster pioneered this, distributing music files.
